ah you're still having problems with the images...

Go to an Image Browser and upload those 2 pictures in JPG, but keep the original ones during converting in a paint programme though. Now with the JPG, upload something like www.imageshack.ws and upload that image in. Paste the new link (but not the image tag) onto here and well take a look at it

It's unfortunate, and maybe action would e taken if it came to light that this person was doing it consistently, but the fact that it relies on you not paying attention and is not a case of exploiting, recieving a service (taxi or likewise) and then logging out without paying means that the responsibility lies with you to ensure the correct amount is offered in my opinion.

P.S - Wrong forum. Not a must read by any accounts. *bangs head against wall*

First-Stop naming names. You may be the scammer trying to discredit the victim, you might be bullshitting, etc. See where this is going?

Second-One time I was selling a (damn) good weapon for 15k, and the other person put in 15 gold. When I informed him, he said he thought it was 15 plat by accident because the plat symbol was next to it and he apologized. Yes, he could have been lying, but he promptly paid the agreed price and was on his way.

You don't check, your loss

I usually get the ones that put up plat, then cancel then put up gold. Just take a screenshot and send it to anet. (whether they actually get you or not)

I tried to have fun with one of the people that tried to scam me but they wouldn't reply...

NIC...you shoulda checked....this is yoor fault,,,not his....scammer he may be, however, it is YOUR resposiblity to manage your funds and items.....YOU accepted the transaction...sorry to sound so rough, but the reality is you let yourself get scammed.

if you were a vender in real life would you accept monopoly money instead of real money....no you wouldnt.

Like many other MMOs, look at the item before selling it... oh wait... dang! thinking it was ROSE...! this is harder then... hmm

Do NOT accept the offer until they have paid you the correct offering. If they don't do so (After 5 or so seconds) CANCEL their offer and report that player to ANet

It's unfortunate, but that's a user-side error, no more ANET or anyone else's fault than if you had accidentally sold your favourite weapon to the NPC vendor or deleted your character holding valuable items and a lot of cash.

In respect for the rules of the board, please remove the names from your first post.

Don't think I don't sympathize, I've screwed up before by not double checking before deleting a character holding the bulk of my money, which, thankfully was only 6k. Not a lot, but it was to me back then.

The point being that, regardless of sympathy, it's still, to put it bluntly, mostly your fault for not verifying the trade.

I suggest that you chalk this up as a life lesson, and learn well from it that, as the saying goes, you really can't trust most people farther than you can throw them.

Other similar situations I suggest you be prepared for are emails from people claiming to be representatives of a company that you're a client of, such as ANET, asking you for your password, and people who pretend to be your friend for the sole purpose of lulling you into a false sense of security in order to gain access to your account.

Never give out private information to other people like that. Often, it's not wise to even share things like passwords with your friends that you know in real life - When you get into a spat, and most friends do at one time or another, it becomes a weapon that they're very likely to abuse, if not for something trivial such as greed.

And while the above might sound like common sense, so is double checking your trade window to be sure that the person is upholding their end of the bargain. I'm just a firm believer in the, "Give a man a fish; teach a man to fish" philosophy, and rather than simply handing out sympathy, I'd rather make sure you're capable of keeping yourself out of situations where you'd need it.

Everyone else already posted a, "I told you so." type of message, so I need not.

And theres a difference between a 'scammer' and a person who doesn't pay attention.
